REGISTER Your Rescue or Pound
Please make sure you register your rescue or shelter with us if you’ve never done so. You only have to register your rescue once but you register every dog you’re bringing into any given event.
REGISTER Your Dogs Coming Into the Event
Our charity is dedicated to finding the best forever homes for dogs in shelters.
Any shelters or rescues based in Connecticut are given first opportunity to register dogs for our larger Dog Days adoption events. We usually see at least 600 people visit these events on the weekend. You may register to bring your dogs for one or both days. We have volunteers who will assist your rescue in any way you need or you may manage your dogs and the adoption process with your own volunteers. Make sure you look at the registration information required before you begin entering. You cannot save your registration form once started to go back and finish later.
MUNICIPAL POUNDS
We know getting dogs from a pound into a public event can be difficult and we will do whatever we can to help. While ACO’s must register their dogs to attend they do not need to come both days and we have many volunteers who will help with transport or any other request to get CT shelter dogs to our adoption event.
IN STATE RESCUES
OUT OF STATE RESCUES
Out of state rescues, pounds or shelters are invited to attend our larger events once registration opens. Our rescue coordinator will send you a file to review before deciding if you would like to attend our event. Please review this information carefully, it’s complicated getting dogs into the state of Connecticut but worth the effort! We have great adopters here and our volunteers will help you in any way that we can.
REGISTER Your Volunteers
While we have a large volunteer group to help your rescue, you MUST register anyone from your organzation who will be at our event site, this is for insurance purposes.
Our volunteer corp is made up of people from 8 to 80 and we work together to find the best homes for shelter dogs in need. Our “village” is a big one and we all work very hard to organize and run our adoption events and other programs. We rely on community help for all of our events and at our larger events we can easily put more than 100 volunteers to work!
